The Business and Income Taxes Division (BIT) manages a variety of Montana tax types that include business, individual, and natural resources.BIT is comprised offive bureaus including Analytics and Planning, Income and Withholding Taxes, Audits and Pass-Through, Natural Resource and Corporate, and Business Taxes and Fees. The Business and Income Tax Division ensures secure handling of taxpayer information and data.BIT’s auditing technicians perform a variety of duties assigned by management. Duties include conducting simple examinations of various types of tax returns, adjusting tax returns, conducting research, communicating internally and externally, and participating in the appeal process. Auditing technicians also provide support for other unit operations and complex examination activities. The position does not supervise other staff. The Taxpayer Accounting Unit is looking for a motivated, self-driven individual to join our team. This unit, which is comprised of 13 teammates, is responsible for the initial review of various return groups, supplemental forms, tax credits, software updates and annual internal operations.
