We are looking for environmental scientists and project managers that want to make a difference with their knowledge, organizational skills, and passion in due diligence and redevelopment working with federal, state, and grassroots stakeholders on redevelopment projects. Many of the projects that we support are for non-profits that are addressing affordable housing issues for under-served populations. Others are for municipalities and NGOs looking to redevelop environmentally blighted properties. This position will perform the following tasks:

  • Manage and conduct Phase I ESAs to ASTM or higher standards

  • Manage and conduct Phase II ESAs

  • Manage/oversee hydrogeological investigations

  • Manage/oversee hazardous materials surveys (including asbestos, lead-based paint, and methamphetamines)

  • Interpret analytical data using spreadsheets and databases

  • Perform tasks across multiple disciplines to bring about successful project completion

  • Demonstrate full knowledge of each project’s status and goals

  • Respond to clients and customers

  • Other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements:

    This position requires a minimum of 5 - 10 years of related experience. The ideal candidate is required to have experience with:

  • Strong background/experience with environmental due diligence and thorough understanding of Phase I and Phase II Guidance

  • Understanding of due diligence and brownfields redevelopment processes

  • An in depth understanding of UST requirements in EPA Region 8 States.

  • UST

  • Asbestos sampling

  • Lead-based paint sampling

  • Tiered Approach to Corrective Action Objectives

  • Brownfield experience preferred, but not a must

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Excellent organizational and communications skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

    Preferred Experience:

  • 5-10 years of Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering or related environmental consulting experience.

  • Direct experience should include performing environmental site assessments (Phase I, Phase II) hydrogeological and hazardous materials investigations, monitoring/sampling all media, regulatory compliance, and waste management.

  • Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems.

  • ArcPro database management and figure development

    Degree / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related from an accredited university.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred

  • AHERA asbestos inspector training preferred

  • EPA Lead-Based Paint Inspector certification preferred

    Work Environment

  • Approximately 20 – 50% travel throughout the intermountain west for site visits and environmental field investigations. Mobilization point can be from home, a Tetra Tech office or a combination of both.

  • You must be able to walk around project sites in all types of terrain and be physically able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment.

  • Field activities take place in a variety of all weather conditions both hot and cold.

  • You may need to be able to wear a respirator.

  • This position requires you to drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
