Job Overview: The Chief Accountability Officer is an integral part of the Superintendent’s Office and assists the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent with all upper level administrative and management activities. This position assists the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent in planning, budgeting, policy development, personnel management, and in establishing goals and direction for the department. The Chief Accountability Officer is responsible for program development and coordination of the division administrators. The incumbent is the executive responsible for implementation of department goals, objectives, and policies once determined by the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent. Does this sound like you? Knowledge and Skills required to perform the job: This position requires: · Knowledge in interpreting state and federal rules and regulations, including the writing of guidance documents to internal and external stakeholders. · Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to the divisions and units under this position. · Knowledge and skills in management, organization, systems design, and theory. · Knowledge of federal audits of programs. · Knowledge in application in organizational effectiveness. · Knowledge in Human Resources, Payroll, Procurement and Auditing. · Skilled in effective leadership skills and extensive experience in effective personnel practices. · Ability to communicate effectively in a factual manner, orally, and in writing. · Ability to work with others to resolve conflict and reach positive resolutions. _ _ Meet minimum qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in organizational management, business administration, public administration, auditing, Human Resources, or closely related degree. · Five years of job-related work experience. · Three years of senior-level supervision. · Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * * For a complete job description please send job number toOPICareers@mt.gov This position is in the PERS retirement system.
