This role oversees critical services such as IT and data security, systems development, OPI application support, data collection systems, data analysis, database management, computer networking, server administration, desktop support, information storage, and web development. The Division manages OPI’s IT hardware and software, ensures security and backup for OPI data systems, and provides technical support to both OPI users and school districts. Additionally, the Division administers the Computers for Schools program (§ 18-6-101, MCA), distributing surplus computer equipment from state agencies for use in classrooms across the state.__ _Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors):_ · Advanced Knowledge of IT technology and services, including systems development, cloud computing, cybersecurity frameworks, enterprise architecture, and emerging technology trends (AI, ML, data analytics). · Knowledge of in-depth understanding of IT governance frameworks, regulatory compliance and risk management, ensuring alignment of technology with business objectives. · Skilled in financial management related to IT budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, and resource allocation to optimize investments in technology. · Knowledge of change management methodologies for integrating technology across OPI, minimizing disruption, and fostering adoption. · Knowledge of supervisory and leadership skills, including talent management, succession planning, and cultivating high-performing teams. · Skilled in strong leadership and vision. · Knowledge of project management concepts and methods. · Skilled in verbal and written communication, superior customer service skills, and collaborative problem-solving techniques. · Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals. · Skill to establish workable solutions to complex problems; provide leadership and direct the work of others; motivate and evaluate subordinate staff. · Ability to work with confidential information, interpreting laws, policies, and regulations. · Ability toexemplify competence, continual development of leadership effectiveness, and qualities of character. _Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience_): · BS/BA in information systems, computer engineering, computer science, or related field · 10 or more years of job-related work experience · 5 or more years of senior supervision experience. · Other combinations of education and experience will be considered case-by-case. _Does this sound like you?_ Please tell us how and why by submitting your resume online, including any veterans or disability preference documentation.When submitting the required documents, you must check the “relevant document” box to ensure your attachments are uploading correctly to the specific application for this position.Documents not requested will not be considered in the recruitment process.
