The Opportunity
Are you a technical leader with extensive experience in cloud computing and a proven track record of coaching and developing technical teams in matrixed organizations? If so, you'll be excited to join our AWS alliance team at Nutanix, where you'll collaborate closely with various AWS orgs to help them become proficient at positioning Nutanix solutions such as Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) on AWS. You'll also act as the AWS subject matter expert at Nutanix, helping NC2 specialist teams win opportunities and assist customers in fully realizing the advantages of running Nutanix software in AWS. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development and Alliances for Cloud Partnerships. The role is a remote position and requires approximately 20 to 25% travel, primarily within the US to support AWS partnership activities.
About the Team
You will be joining the AWS alliance team at Nutanix, which is responsible for the fast-growing strategic partnership between Nutanix and AWS and dedicated to enhancing collaboration and integration between cloud platforms. This team operates remotely within the United States, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. The mission of the NC2 team is to drive strategic partnerships that empower clients to maximize their cloud investments by effectively leveraging both AWS and Nutanix technologies.
You will report to the Senior Director, Business Development of Cloud Partners. The manager emphasizes a collaborative and supportive leadership style, encouraging team members to take initiative while providing guidance and mentorship. The work setup for this role is fully remote within the United States, allowing for flexibility in work hours, but it is expected that the new hire will be engaged and collaborative with the team on a regular basis.
The role requires up to 25% travel within the United States, providing opportunities to engage with clients and participate in sales enablement activities. This travel will enhance client relationships and allow the new hire to showcase expertise in both AWS and Nutanix integration.
Your Role
- Engage in presales discussions to provide expert level Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) AWS assistance to AWS and Nutanix teamsBuild rapport with and enable AWS teams to position NC2 and progress customer opportunities with decreasing involvement from Nutanix over timePrepare and deliver low-level and high-level design documents based on customer engagementManage stakeholder communications to ensure alignment with internal, customer, and partner expectations and technical requirementsParticipate in internal training and mentoring to enhance team capabilities and personal growthTravel when necessary (approximately 20-25%) to provide enablement training, collaborate on customer engagement, and participate in partnership activitiesProvide occasional remote support/guidance to EMEA and APJ colleagues when expert NC2 AWS assistance is requiredCollaborate with presales and engineering teams for effort estimation and project costingBecome familiar with Nutanix products and prorities as well as AWS service offerings to help drive development of new joint offerings with AWS
What You Will Bring
- 2 to 4 years as an architect with over 10 years in IT, focusing on infrastructure: Nutanix, VMware & similar virtualization platforms as well as cloud IaaS solutionsExtensive knowledge of AWS cloud computing and networking technologies, including hands-on AWS experienceStrong background in networking principles, with a solid understanding of network architectureExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business needsProficient in preparing low-level and high-level design documents, facilitating clear communication of architectural plans and solutionsDeep understanding of customer challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, enabling the delivery of tailored solutions that meet specific client requirementsKnowledge of commercial aspects, including effort estimation, workload sizing and budgeting using tools such as OLA's, AWS Pricing Calculator, and Nutanix SizerFamiliarity with Nutanix Solutions such as Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) or similar virtualization & cloud technologies Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
