State of Montana Commercial Tobacco Policy Program Officer (07723) in Helena, Montana

* *The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Public Health and Safety Division. Commercial tobacco policies have played an instrumental role in the reduction of smoking prevalence over the years. The Program Officer researches, develops, and educates on the importance of public health policies that aims to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by commercial tobacco use. Primary responsibilities of this position include: 1) researching and analyzing national, state and local public health policy; 2) providing technical assistance to local entities to educate on and enforce public health policy; 3) enforcing the Clean Indoor Air Act; and 4) developing and disseminating effective educational messaging. Other responsibilities include working closely alongside team members with diverse areas of expertise in the commercial and traditional tobacco spaces.
