What is this career opportunity?
The Health Care and Benefits Division is dedicated to administering cost effective benefit programs in support of state employees, legislators, retirees, and their families. This position performs communications and project management support for division business processes and initiatives.
Project Management: reports progress and status of projects and vendor performance; assists with project management duties associated with procurement processes and other division projects and initiatives; and documents new or updated business processes and assists with implementation, as needed.
Communications Support: drafts plan member communications and assists with the development of presentation materials; develops informational materials associated with benefit plans and other division initiatives and services; and publishes materials through various communications methods, such as emails, websites, etc.

What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration or related field and two years of job-related experience. Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Effective proofreading, formatting, and editing skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches and procedures that drive continual improvement within an organization.
Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality work output.
Adaptability to changes in the work environment; management of competing priorities; and capacity to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Appropriate identification and resolution of problems within areas of responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, as this position has frequent contact and access to confidential information.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office software suite and ability to learn and use new software programs.
