About The Role

Summary

The Business Intelligence/Analytics Architect for Quantitative Credit will be employed within the GBCI Client Experience department of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. to provide quantitative analysis and analytic tools for Glacier Bancorp's loan portfolios through credit risk and overall performance monitoring. This position is the senior Analytics/Business Intelligence role and is expected to deploy significant experience in both the analytic space (banking, economics, and quantitative analysis), and the technical space (semantic modelling, data engineering, and development practices to support the design and development of global business intelligence architecture). This includes the development, testing, implementation and support of specific reports and analysis, data and quantitative models (such as the bank's CECL model, stress-testing models, and related tools and reporting), as well as independent, end-to-end design of logical data architecture and warehouse-to-report physical implementation of data pipelines and assets.

As a senior position, the BI Architect-Quantitative Credit is expected to operate with little oversight and support the department through coaching BI analysts, aiding in the development of BI policies and procedures, and proactively identifying and filling gaps in BI report and data assets. The role is expected to full ownership of Credit's data and analytic needs, from developing requirements to interpreting reports. In addition, the role should have an enterprise focus and develop solutions consistent with broader BI, analytics, and data strategy, and support the broader BI/Analytics team in that effort. The ideal candidate will merge expert data engineering skills, business analysis capabilities, portfolio analytics, and excellent communication, augmented with deep understanding of the banking space on top of standard BI and report development skills.

This is a Corporate Position, which can be located in an available bank division location across our eight-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, UT, WA, or WY. Click here to learn more about our bank divisions.

The entry rate for this position is $79,769.98 + / year (calculated for Kalispell, MT). All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

Job Duties

  • BI Application Development: Prepares and develops Business Analytics/Intelligence package reports for Credit and Bank Divisions based on business needs (e.g., acquired bank reports, centralized reports, monitoring dashboards) using best practices for reliability and scalability. Communicates results of reports and analysis to the business units. Increases the automation and efficiency of routine reports, existing models, and related tools. Supports other report writers within and outside of the BI team in report development with expert knowledge. Performs ad hoc analysis and research into the bank's credit portfolio and related domains utilizing technical and statistical tools.
  • Reporting infrastructure design, development, and operation: Support the data warehouse in the design and testing of data pipelines from source to the warehouse. Design, implement, and maintain custom pipelines and reusable data assets within and downstream from the warehouse to power specific reporting and analytic needs to improve the operations of existing credit models and tooling. Solve data engineering and design challenges in a manner consistent with broader BI and data strategy. Support the maintenance and deployment of the suite of credit models and tooling used by the bank. As needed, operate the models, tools, and analytics packages.
  • Data semantics discovery and model design: Uses business process and data modelling capabilities to design, document, and build logical and physical semantic models for novel data domains and updates existing models to support new reporting and analysis use cases. Translates business concepts and requirements into data sources and transformation functions. Integrates models consistent with data strategy.
  • BI and Analytics Requirements Development: Works with and builds long-term relationships with Credit and related business units to identify, define, and revise BI and analytics requirements. Develops roadmaps to address those requirements with clients.
  • Process design and documentation: Develops, documents, and adheres to repeatable, transferable, and sustainable business processes to across the BI lifecycle. Documents models, reports, pipelines, processes, and other activity for regulatory and business continuity purposes.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.
