Facebook Creative Director, Messenger Kids in Helena, Montana

Summary:

Messenger Kids is looking for a Creative Director to lead the Messenger Kids Creative Team.The Messenger Kids Creative Team is a multidisciplinary team of specialists responsible for concepting and creating the camera effects, filters, activities and games that appear within the Messenger Kids app.They work closely with Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Research to not only create and ship content, but also to generate new experiences, activities, and games that help evolve the app experience.The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, strategic-minded, product-thinking systems thinker with high standards for craft and execution. This person should have a track record of strong team leadership and managerial experience. They should be comfortable in a fast-paced, quickly-shifting environment, and be able to synthesize points of view from various stakeholders in order to offer solutions.

Required Skills:

  1. Reviewing, critiquing and guiding work generated by the team.

  2. Ensuring alignment and collaboration with cross functional partners.

  3. Aligning team goals with product goals.

  4. Defining an innovation roadmap.

  5. Strategic growth planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years experience as Creative Director or equivalent leadership role on an in-house team.

  2. A link to an online portfolio showcasing relevant work (Include link on your resume).

  3. Experience in the gaming industry.

  4. Proven UX skills.

  5. High-level of hands-on experience making the work, if needed.

  6. Proven track record of team leadership and people management.

  7. Demonstrated experience creating work in a fast-paced environment.

  8. A curiosity for the why and the how before the what.

  9. Demonstrated sense of current youth trends, styles, and culture.

  10. Presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the experience communicating complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively.
