State Print & Mail (SPM) is seeking a creative professional to be their Customer Service & Design Manager who will guide and support their front office staff. This role reports to the SPM Bureau Chief and supervises five individuals - two customer service reps and three design specialists. As the face and voice of SPM, this team sets the standard for customer service. They work directly with customers to enter print orders into a ticketing system and prepare files for production. Responsibilities of this position include: * Assign and monitor of all work performed by team * Keep track of jobs to ensure none are overlooked, behind schedule or overdue * Balance workload for CSR/design groups as well as for everyone on the team * Communicate about all incoming work to regulate capacity * Coordinate project details and job status internally and externally * Train employees and document all changes to processes, systems, and software * Consult and advise employees and customers on current processes and printing efficiencies * Correspond with customers regarding any problems, questions, or concerns * Identify, develop, and implement workflow and process improvements Responsibilities of the team include: * Handling incoming requests from customers * Strategize with customers to determine their needs and advise them on products and services to meet their requirements * Create accurate/timely estimates and job tickets and follow up accordingly * Prepare layouts according to the exact job ticket specifications using the proper systems, processes, and software programs * Provide graphic design services ranging from small brochures to rebranding efforts (You can learn more about the P&M teamhere.) Education and Experience: * A bachelor’s degree inBusiness, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field; AND o It would be great if you have graphic design experience, but don’t let your lack of that keep you from applying! * 2 years relevant print production experience with demonstrated leadership ability; OR * Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Competencies: /Knowledge of:/ * Printing processes, terminology, specifications * Graphic design, page layout, typesetting, typography, color theory * Imposition and/or data merge software * Mail requirements and addressing standards /Ability to:/ * Deliver and promote outstanding customer service * Provide leadership, vision, encouragement, and expectations for staff * Keep organized with multiple projects and deadlines * Become fluent with SPM business processes and MIS (Avanti Slingshot) * Prioritize projects and mange workloads * Develop, and maintain positive working relationships * Communicate effectively (verbal and written) * Problem-solve analyze to find solutions * Build consensus among a group of varying stakeholders * Formulate development of projects and budgets * Be a self-starting individual, and to take ownership for results and drive change * Be a team player who supports the agency by focusing on the vision, mission, and goals * Perform with honesty and integrity, treating others with dignity and respect * Communicate effectively with a range of audiences at varied technical levels * Use Adobe Creative Suite/Adobe Creative Cloud at an advanced level * Create designs that effectively communicate the desired messages Does this sound like you?
