Data Analyst/State Reporting Officer

This position serves as a Data Analyst and State Reporting Officer for Helena School District # 1, a K-12 public school system.? Position serves as an Information Systems Specialist for Helena School District #1, a K-12 public school system.

This position is responsible for the integration and maintenance of district database systems and state of Montana databases to meet state-mandated district business and reporting requirements. Project management and system integration includes the Student Information System (SIS), various assessment systems, and state of Montana databases (i.e., TEAMS, AIM, TOE, MAEFAIRS). This requires the skills to translate business needs to technical requirements for accurate records management, optimization and data clean up, as well as training and data sharing with all district departments.

Some of what you will do:

  • Provide secondary technical support, design guidance, and maintenance of the district’s student information system (SIS).?

  • Serve as a liaison with the Montana Office of Public Instruction and database vendors to resolve operational problems and technical issues.?

  • Perform file management tasks, including transferring, loading, archiving and converting data for purposes of managing, maintaining and securing student information.?

  • Partner with the SIS Integration Coordinator for maintaining and updating the district's SIS administration software package. Monitor required upgrades to the database and to plugins to insure optimal integrated operation of SIS.?

  • Provide business analysis and system integration with various department heads for accurate reporting and data readiness of responsible programs

  • Collaborate with district administrators to compile, upload and certify data collections throughout the year.

    Required application materials include:

  • Any combination equivalent to bachelor's degree and four years of experience working with databases

  • Demonstrated experience using Database Tools, Windows OS (Operating System) and/or Mac OS

  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft PowerAutomate and/or Teams

Starting salary is $52,505-$60,908 per year depending on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
