Meta Data Center Training and Development Program Specialist in Helena, Montana


Meta is seeking a Program Specialist focused on training and development work specific to our Data Center Site Operations (“SiteOps”) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. The Program Specialist will be responsible for developing training specific to the operations of Meta’s data centers. The training will be in support of building and improving the skills and capabilities of those in SiteOps. In this role, the ideal candidate will be very effective at pulling the right people together to build out training content that addresses the skill gaps and new needs for the organization. Once the training is created, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the training, ensuring instructors are available and enrollment processes are defined leveraging Meta’s learning and development systems. This role will also support the team by identifying key process metrics and improvement opportunities to develop people and teams within SiteOps, working closely with SiteOps Global/Geo, Site, and Functional Leads, as well as our cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate will gather business and technical requirements across teams, think broadly and strategically about initiatives on a global basis, use data collection and analysis to drive decisions, and work with stakeholders to operationalize training development and delivery. The candidate will need to work effectively with cross-functional partners, leveraging what already exists, adapting where appropriate for SiteOps needs, and incorporating site specific unique situations. Moreover, the program specialist will need to demonstrate strategic thinking by creating a multi-year plan for training and development that builds on what already exists while considering the planned scale and complexity of our data center footprint for the next 5 years. The successful candidate will prioritize for positive impact, and will be highly organized and structured, synthesizing available data into information that is readily actioned and communicated. The candidate will need to be forward thinking, anticipating future needs and growth trends, and sequencing work based on the maturity and priorities of the broader organization.

Required Skills:

Data Center Training and Development Program Specialist Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the development and delivery of SiteOps specific technical training needed to close skill gaps or bring new skills to the organization.

  2. Continually work to improve the SiteOps specific technical training by seeking data-informed feedback on timeliness and effectiveness.

  3. Build out a rolling 3-year strategy to improve SiteOps specific technical training that leads measurable improvements in closing skill gaps and in line with SiteOps goals and objectives.

  4. Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups or consultation. Build a plan to close known training gaps for specific SiteOps knowledge.

  5. Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities and program effectiveness. This includes instructor effectiveness, materials and over all practices.

  6. Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, handouts, and teaching aids to ensure the content is of high quality and aligned with the needs of the organization.

  7. Select and assign instructors to conduct training and develop content.

  8. Coordinate recruitment and placement of training program participants.

  9. Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.

  10. Lead improvement efforts that drive consistency in how we provide technical training.

  11. Work with others across SiteOps to ensure their content is updated and reviewed for relevance on a regular basis.

  12. Build relationships and gain consensus with key stakeholders while focusing on executing timely solutions.

  13. Mitigate risks by managing dependencies across multiple teams, locations, and sites. Clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track exceptions.

  14. Proactively provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders on KPIs, improvements, and risks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience communicating key insights and business recommendations to non-technical audiences and working with technical management teams to help develop processes and solutions.

  2. Experience capturing complex concepts and communicating them to stakeholders effectively.

  3. Minimum 6 years experience in organization development and/or training and development required.

  4. Effective interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the experience dealing with tact and diplomacy with all levels of the organization.

  5. Effective computer skills, including MS Office, GSuite applications.

  6. Highly organized with information, documentation, and workflows. Experience putting information into a structure so that others can quickly find what is needed.

  7. Bachelor's degree in human resource management, organizational design, learning and development or similar field aligned with the job responsibilities.

  8. Highly organized in communication. Demonstrated experience in keeping information structured in a manner that allows others to quickly understand content and message.

  9. Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.

  10. Flexible and experience managing multiple tasks and handle changing priorities and deadlines.

  11. Knowledge of training techniques, various training models including learning theories.

  12. Technical drafting and copy/edit skills that make draft material easier to understand.
