Many of these programs are grant funded and require extensive work with external stakeholders in the administration of the program. The Director oversees professional level staff in modified or permanent positions who provide technical assistance and training for school personnel. This position is responsible for ensuring the planning, coordinating, promoting, managing, and evaluating the Coordinate School Health Programs. This position develops and manages budgets, develops, and implements work unit policies and procedures, designs professional development programs, performs supervisory and evaluation duties of professional level and support services staff, and ensures program compliance with state and federal laws and/or grant requirements.__ _Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors):_ · Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of health education. · Knowledge of personnel management practices and techniques including supervision, training and orientation methods, performance evaluation, employee discipline, methods of recruitment and selection. · Knowledge of general management principles with an emphasis on establishing programmatic objectives and priorities and creating work plans and schedules. · Knowledge of program administration. · Knowledge of federal and state fiscal management and budgeting practices. · Knowledge of departmental programs and their correlation to this program. · Knowledge of grant application and management procedures. · Knowledge of laws and regulations governing state and federal education programs. · Knowledge of federal and state confidentiality requirements, including FERPA requirements for collection, management and release of data. · Knowledge of effective, research-based prevention programs. · Knowledge of teacher education programs. · Knowledge of health enhancement/health education assessment. · Ability to design, implement and evaluate health education strategies on a statewide basis. · Ability to develop program objectives, evaluate program performance and determine administrative adjustments as necessary. · Ability to design, implement and analyze needs assessments for state and local education services. · Ability to provide public information on program services. · Ability to effectively manage and direct multiple complex programs. · Ability to understand and apply federal and state laws regulations. · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, superiors, and diverse public, private, and community-based agencies; communicate effectively verbally and in writing. _Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience_): · Bachelor’s degree in education and/or a related field. · A minimum of two years supervisory experience. · 3 years job-related experience. · Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. _Does this sound like you?_ Please tell us how and why by submitting your resume online, including any veterans or disability preference documentation.When submitting the required documents, you must check the “relevant document” box to ensure your attachments are uploading correctly to the specific application for this position.Documents not requested will not be considered in the recruitment process.
