Change Healthcare E/M Medical Coder in Helena, Montana

Overview of Position

Experienced professional coder is responsible for daily E & M coding, denial management, charge hold, RAI resolution and abstraction. The coder is responsible for escalation of coding questions and request for co ding guidance to the Coding Coordinator and/or Supervisor . Participate in internal QA audits and provide feedback in the compliance QA process.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Provide coding and abreaction of physician or professional records

  • Provide communications to Coordinator, Supervisors and Managers

  • Complete RAI's, denials, charge hold reports, and coding edits

  • Assist on special coding projects as assigned

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Professional Coding Certification CPC, CCS or CCS-P. McKesson SCC Coding Certification required.

  • 1-3 years Production Coding experience with both quality and productivity requirements. Lead Coder or Supervisory experience a plus. Experience auditing is preferred.

  • Proficient with Excel and MS office products

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Organized and detail-oriented is critical

  • Computer literate

  • Knowledge of medical coding

  • 10,000 alpha / numeric keying speed
