This position provides direct patient care in a clinical outpatient setting working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members under the direction of the Department Director or designee. The nurse reviews the patient’s status related to the planned procedure to include physical parameters, lab values, medication, pre-, intra-, and post-procedure learning needs. The nurse will work collaboratively to resolve identified patient issues in a timely manner and prevent avoidable cancellations and delays in completing ordered procedure. The goal is to promote and restore patient’s health by completing the nursing process through the collection, verification and organization of data, incorporating elements of family-centered care. This position requires planning for care, implementing and assessing the plan, and evaluating their outcomes, which are integral elements of the nursing process. The nurse is responsible for delivering of patient care as it relates to pre-, intra-, and post-endoscopic procedures. Timely and accurate documentation of findings according to hospital policy is required.
