Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to be based in Helena, Montana. This full-time position within our Environmental group will work with an existing team to help manage a variety of oil and gas remediation projects with oversight from senior managers and technical experts. The ideal candidate will require experience working with MT environmental regulatory agencies, a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits

  • Managing scope, schedule, and budget for tasks small to mid-sized remediation construction and environmental investigation projects

  • Building strong client relationships

  • Client and regulatory correspondence

  • Technical report writing and review

  • Analyzes and applies solutions to atypical and/or semi-complex and challenging issues within area of expertise

  • Manage project financials to meet project goals

  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals

  • Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders

  • Coordinating work schedules with AECOM staff and subcontractors

  • Responsible for quality control of tasks

  • Mentor project Jr. staff

  • Will require some regional travel for field visits

  • May include the supervision of junior level staff

  • Manages one or more very complex project, involving a combination of the following:

  • Clients with a national geographic footprint; OR,

  • Projects involving a full spectrum of services offered by IE; OR,

  • Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.

  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

  • Has consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.

  • Manages other Project Managers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in, Environmental Science, Business Management, Engineering, Geology, or closely related field

  • 4+ years of project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experiences and/or education.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Records search

  • Must be able to pass any pre-employment assessments such as, background check and drug screens.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in environmental consulting

  • Experience working for clients in the oil and gas market sector

  • Experience working with MT environmental regulatory agencies.

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training Supervisory experience

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $125,000.00.
