State of Montana Facility Inspector Supervisor (00921) in Helena, Montana

The purpose of the position is to assure compliance with Federal regulations and Fire Codes, emergency preparedness, Clinical Laboratories Improvement Amendments (CLIA) requirements through supervision of the fire and life safety, emergency preparedness, and CLIA survey activities for Titles XVIII (Medicare) and XIX (Medicaid), reviews engineering and construction documents for building modifications, emergency preparedness documents, and CLIA reports required for program compliance, and provides consultation to facilities and other Office staff on life safety and construction issues, emergency preparedness, and CLIA survey requirements. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Knowledgeof building construction methods, Life Safety Code, emergency preparedness, and other national fire codes * Skillin developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with a variety of private and public agencies. * Ability tocommunicate frequently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including but not limited to, residents, families, facility staff, business owners, other state agencies, CMS staff and legislators. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Fire Prevention/Protection Services, or a closely related field of study. o Five years of job-related work. o One year of experience supervising others. o Have passed or will be able to take and pass the NFPA Certified Fire Inspector Exam 1 (CFI-1) within 1 year of employment. o Have passed or will be able to take and pass Basic Life Safety Code (BLSC) training (earning a certificate of completion) within 1 year of employment.
