Montana Department of Corrections Facility Project Manager in Helena, Montana




The Facility Manager provides leadership and coordination throughout the State for all the Department’s facilities needs. This position works closely with other leadership and maintenance personnel throughout Corrections to oversee state-owned land, buildings, and infrastructure committed to the Department’s care. The Facility Manager will also be responsible to coordinate with the state Architecture and Engineering Division (A&E) in the areas of Facility Condition Assessments, Long Range Building Program planning, and implementation of projects.

A&E is responsible for managing projects through all phases of the project life cycle for the Department of Corrections by implementing project plans and ensuring execution of project activities and tasks to produce project deliverables. In collaboration with this position and Department leadership, they are responsible for refining project requirements, assumptions and constraints through communication with stakeholders.

The Facility Manager is also responsible for overseeing project completion and ensure sign-off on deliverables by all responsible parties and finalization of all paperwork on behalf of the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field required. Two years job-related experience in Construction Management. Must be able to prioritize and organize tasks as well as have strong interpersonal and communications skills. Experience with MS Project or other project management tools is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
