HELENA HOUSING AUTHORITY Facility Support Coordinator in HELENA, Montana

Facility Support Coordinator Working at Helena Housing Authority (HHA) offers the opportunity to positively impact the lives of residents and to serve the Helena Community. HHA seeks a Facilities Support Coordinator responsible for coordinating resident relations and interactions, serving as the lead for maintenance and custodial activities and more. Duties Include: - Coordinate and manage resident relocation, handle inquires, monitor facility issues, facilitate access for maintenance, and collaborate with housing teams to ensure seamless communication and project completion in public housing. - Oversee and assign tasks to subordinates, provide training on work methods, resolve workflow issues, and give feedback to the Facility Manager on staff performance. - Coordinate special projects and maintenance tasks, automate processes for efficiency, and ensure effective communication and timely execution of tasks while addressing any urgent issues and escalating major repairs when necessary. - Maintain a State of Montana Pesticide License, ensure adherence to pest management procedures and safety standards, and conduct biannual inspections of public housing units for pests, updating and observing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in collaboration with the Facilities Manager. - Prepare and treat infested units using appropriate methods, assist tenants with preventive measures, and conduct follow-up inspections to ensure complete pest eradication, while also educating tenants on proper preventive actions. - Regularly monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of grounds and facilities by removing debris, identifying unsafe conditions, and providing upkeep of lawns, sidewalks, and parking lots using both hand tools and powered equipment. - Operate and maintain various machinery and tools for landscaping, snow removal, and minor repairs. Inspect and repair equipment, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform necessary maintenance on structures and building features. - Perform thorough cleaning of apartments and common areas, ensuring compliance with HUD standards. Handle garbage removal, and clean and restore interiors affected by damage using commercial cleaning equipment. - Perform Section 8 and Public Housing Inspections, conduct Quality Control Audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with HQS and NSPIRE standards, and track corrective actions to ensure timely repairs and adherence to safety protocols. - Cross-check inspection records and data entries, collaborate with the primary inspector and Housing Program staff to monitor and verify compliance, and provide feedback and training to enhance inspection procedures and documentation accuracy. Qualifications to Join our Team: - A high school diploma or GED and four years of maintenance/custodial, groundskeeping, and pest removal experience. - Previous project management or supervisory experience. - Able to successfully complete the pesticide applicator core class, pass the core test, and attain Industrial Structural and Health License within one year of hire. - Must maintain Industrial Structural and Health License including maintaining 12 continuing education credits (CE) per license cycle (4 years) - Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Montana Driver?s License and a driving record acceptable to insurance carriers. Ability to operate HHA vehicles. - Ability to work overtime, if needed. - Availability to participate in after-hours work, if needed. - Must pass an extensive background check, including an acceptable criminal background check. - Experience or training in project management or supervision. - Other requirements as deemed necessary by the Facilities Manager. Anticipated New Hire Pay Range: $21.31 to $25.67 per hour depending on qualifications (for highly qualified candidates), plus organizational and individual pay awards (base pay increases and bonuses). Full-time employees receive 37 days of paid time off, health insurance, and part cipation in the Montana Public Employees Retirement System. Opportunities: The HHA offers a Facilities Support Coordinator career ladder providing high performing individuals promotion opportunities to earn up to $30.04 per hour, plus organizational and individual pay awards (base pay increases and bonuses) and promotion opportunities. Benefits: On top of the hourly wage and 37 paid days off per year (holiday, sick, vacation), additional benefits for full time positions include HHA coverage of $13,000 or more per year toward health coverage, retirement contributions and additional insurance for full time positions.
