This position provides technical assistance of both a general and specific nature, which relies upon knowledge of school improvement research in teaching and learning; specific knowledge of scientifically based reading research including successful instructional designs, classroom implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs that appropriately meet the needs of K-12 students, appropriate and innovative K-12 curriculum and assessment, and sound teaching practices. In meeting job requirements, the incumbent must responsibly apply a complex set of statutes, rules and regulations embodied in accreditation standards, statutes, regulations, federal guidance and other mandates for program operation. Primary responsibilities of this position are to: § Monitor, analyze, and evaluate K-12 Title I-A and Title II-A programs for compliance with current state and federal statutes, regulations, guidance and policy. § Provide complex technical assistance and consultative services to school administrators, federal programs officers, curriculum directors, teachers, business managers and school board members on the implementation, development, improvement, interpretation and evaluation of the Title I-A and Title II-A programs. _Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors):_ · Knowledge of rules, regulations, policy, and procedures to interpret them accurately. · Knowledge to apply rules, regulations, policy, and procedures to the collection, analysis, and evaluation of school improvement efforts, curriculum integration/alignment, and professional development models. · Skills to maintain a high level of technical and educational expertise and provide leadership to districts. · Skills in effective leadership and teamwork to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, technical personnel, diverse groups of professionals, and the public. · Skills in writing and speaking clearly and concisely. · Skills to work cooperatively with colleagues to improve innovation, efficiency, and performance of the division and the agency. · Skills to work collaboratively with OPI staff and other educators from across the state and nation. · Abilities to represent the Superintendent and OPI responsibly by actively supporting and providing leadership to promote the overall goals and objectives of the Superintendent. · Abilities to work effectively as a team member, resolve conflicts, seek improvement in one’s self and profession, and accept change as expectations, duties, and work directions evolve. · Abilities to establish and maintain professional interactions and communications with OPI staff and educators in the field. · Skills to support the direction and activities of the Educational Equity and Opportunity Division. _Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience_): · Bachelor’s degree in education · 2 years of experience in ed, planning, providing, and evaluating professional development.
