This Senior Financial Analyst position is on the Enterprise team within CP&A covering AXP Results, Outlook and Competitive Analysis. This team is primarily responsible for providing Senior Management with enterprise-level analyses on results and outlook and supports financial communications to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Revenue Growth Forum, regulators and other key constituencies. This role’s primary focus will be on outlook and scenarios covering the short to medium term.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze key inputs to our R&O process such as working with PowerBI to organize Billings trends by various industries and other segmentations and working with LFO teams to track Retention

  • Own the data analysis for AXP’s compensation programs

  • Assist with scenario modeling to help better inform senior leaders of AXP’s current or expected performance including:

  • Work with key partners to understand P&L trajectory including counterparts supporting the business units, SMEs including Risk Finance, and FDS

  • Partner with Treasury to model Balance Sheet and Capital implications in conjunction with P&L scenarios

  • Help develop Revenue Growth Forum presentations and use outlook and scenarios to support other deliverables including Compensation Committee, Executive Committee and Board of Directors presentations

  • Utilize outlook and scenario modeling to support Investor Relations with earnings-related preparations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Finance/business-related field required

  • In-depth understanding of the Company, its business and financial models and recent performance

  • Strong Excel and PPT skills required, TM1 knowledge preferred

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong understanding of macroeconomic trends and their impacts on AXP

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into coherent presentations for cross-functional senior leaders

  • Ability to drive and leverage relationships across the organization

  • Strong sense of intellectual curiosity that will drive new and innovative ways of thinking about the company’s performance

  • Proven ability to drive results under the strict deadlines

  • Goal-oriented, self-starter and proactive
