* * The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Early Childhood and Family Support Division, Fiscal Bureau. This position is responsible for overseeing finance and accounting support for the Early Childhood and Family Support Division. Key responsibilities include: 1) developing and managing the division financial and management system; 2) ensuring compliance with policies, grant requirements, state and federal laws and regulations; 3) monitoring expenditures within budget appropriation, 4) providing support related to human resource and legislative policy issues related to the division; and 5) oversight and management of the division’s operations and internal controls; leadership for the division’s audits and monitoring including implementation of activities to address any findings . Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). * Knowledge of budget development and financial accounting systems. * General knowledge of federal and state political, legislative and regulatory process. * Ability to provide financial planning to guide programmatic and organizational decisions. * Ability to anticipate financial implications by developing contingency plans and analyzing funding strategies. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field. o Six years of progressively responsible work experience in accounting or finance. o Two years of supervisory experience in accounting or financial operations. o Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case- by- case basis. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
