Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated full-stack engineering leader to lead technical-engineering teams inclusive of cloud engineering, data engineering, application engineering and security engineering to build framework solutions build of re-usable components within our Technical Solution Engineering team. Partnering with IT Architecture and IT Security team, this leader will build from re-usable components highly secure and repeatable solutions / frameworks that will be used in proposals and as delivery structures to accelerate the delivery. Partnering with segments to build novel solutions, as well as harvesting successful solutions into a common catalog.

Should have both architectural and engineering skills in cloud-based architectures for both core application services and information services. Understands critical tradeoffs in Azure and AWS, Native services vs. bespoke and the appropriate migration/modernization strategies for integrating latent, modern and 3rd party services.

Overall, looking for a Builder who will both lead teams of engineers to build leading solutions, but willing to take on the hardest / highest risk portions themselves. Should be comfortable leading mid-sized teams and able to lead multiple teams simultaneously. A key eye toward risk – engagement, technical, operational and security, the engineering lead will quickly prioritize work with the scrum leader to take down risk and prioritize work based upon the needs of proposal/project teams.

Below are some of the responsibilities a full-stack engineering lead is expected to assume in their position:

  • Architect and build brand-new solutions to fulfill project/solution requirements

  • Create, design, and implement novel solutions and refactor/harvest existing solutions to maintain currency and improve re-use

  • Create and maintain database designs for data storage and processing with a strong understanding of transactions, analytics and the most appropriate data management techniques to support data governance, lineage and provenance

  • Maintain legacy solutions including re-factoring, updates/upgrades and currency with modern CI/CD techniques

  • Integrate external software libraries and APIs into existing projects as well as software/services from partners

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in Agile CI/CD cloud deployment techniques (10 yrs)

  • Demonstrated capabilities to apply policy driven frameworks to cloud deployments inclusive of micro-services (Kubernetes) alongside terraform or similar IaC techniques

  • Knowledge of modern development languages with deep 10 years experience in at least one (python, golang, javascript)

  • Knowledge of modern deployment platforms including node.js, lambda/functions, as well as modern data styles inclusive of columnar, graph and document databases such as mongo, neo4j, synapse, databricks and similar (10 years)

  • Strong communications and leadership skills with a demonstrated capability to drive change organizations and at clients.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

    Preferred:

  • Client facing skills with the capability of facing off with a variable set of client stakeholders from SME’s to key executives.

  • Azure / AWS Associate/Professional Cloud Development, Security, Cloud Data or Architecture disciplines – completion certificates or preferred certified status.

  • Agile Scrum training and certifications (or willingness to complete)

Additional Requirements

Preferred locations for this position are Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL or Washington DC metro area (Tysons, VA). This position is open to candidates virtually from Eastern and Central time zones.
