  Helena School District # 1 has openings for General Education/Overage Para Educators. These positions may be assigned to schools throughout the District.

  At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a General Education Para Educator, you contribute to this mission by assisting students individually and in small groups. You will work as part of a team of 160 serving 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:

• Assists with individual and small group pupil instruction; tutors pupils at teachers' request.

• Assists in maintaining discipline and other functions.

• Assist with attendance and related clerical matters.

• May escort students to and from various rooms.

  To become part of this dedicated team, you need:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• At least three (3) months of related experience and/or training;

• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

  Essential functions of the position include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation. Current entry level salary range is $14.01 to $17.51 per hour depending on education level and applicable relevant school-related experience and includes a comprehensive benefit package including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, paid personal days, 9 paid Holidays, 9 paid school calendar-related days, health benefits including coverage during the summer break, and retirement.
