GOOD SAMARITAN THRIFT STORE Grant Writer & Marketing Coordinator in HELENA, Montana

Mission Statement: Good Samaritan Ministries, motivated by Catholic social teaching, works in our community to advance family life, human dignity and the common good. We provide services to meet the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and families of all faiths, especially those most in need. The Grant Writer and Marketing Coordinator acts as the link between Good Samaritan Ministries (GSM) and the community, businesses, donors, and the people we aim to assist. Responsibilities include creating awareness about GSM and promoting its presence to the community through marketing and advertising and various projects related to, campaigns through articles, press releases, statements, events, and comments through the media. Grant Writing falls under the development department to raise money for the organization?s mission. Position responsible for searching for available grants and researching their requirements to find opportunities that align with Good Samaritan Ministries? mission. Duties and Responsibilities - Assists in the coordination of special events with necessary staff for event/fundraising promotion. - Establishing and maintaining relationships with consumer, community, employee, and public interest groups. - Preparing and editing organizational publications for internal and external audiences. - Coordinate appointments with sponsors for promotion of Good Samaritan Ministries - Prepare and modify event contracts as requested. - Keep inventory of all event materials ordered or needed throughout the event. - Works with Executive Director on event budgets and ensure they are adhered to - Attends relevant community meetings; participate in relevant councils and committees when necessary - Schedules outreach presentations in the community and communicates with staff regarding coverage and responsibilities. - Respond to requests for information release or press conference from the media or designating a spokesperson or source of information. - Writing media communications to promote GSM. - Develops a consistent presentation outline to include a PowerPoint presentation. - Develops outreach materials and packets and brochures. - Maintains relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones. - Works with appointed staff on promotional timelines when necessary - Studying the organization's objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and -romote products, ideas, and services. - Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization. - Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies. - Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization. - Submit proposals for approval. - Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals. - Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders. - Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities. Qualifications - Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers. - Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism - Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision. - Ability to promote and publicize GSM event and Mission. - Knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process - Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization. - Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
