Ford Motor Company Hardware Architecture Engineer in Helena, Montana
As a member of a functional architecture team, you are responsible for the up-front system design work and decision-making inputs on all-new Ford & Lincoln products, including next-gen EV architectures. Our functional architecture team is looking for an Engineer for upper/lower steering design work.
Create advanced design concepts for upper/lower steering components for Ford global vehicles and next-gen EV architectures.
Lead new component design / package maturation in CAD with global Vehical Architecture teams.
Oversee architecture system integration & installation, working with body, electrical, powertrain, vehicle operations, and vehicle architecture.
Lead meetings with steering core teams to identify new technologies and integration into new programs.
Perform chassis system analysis for kinematics and compliances, working with vehicle dynamics and NVH attribute teams.
Early supplier engagement/interface for advanced concepts.
Lead presentations with leadership team in design reviews.
5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
2+ years of automotive experience preferred.
Strong cross-functional & communication skills.
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of mechanical integration & installation requirements, package & assembly.
Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX is a plus.
Experience with FEA (ANSYS or Hypermesh) is a plus.
Experience with underhood / underbody / dash package & mechanical integration/installation a plus.
