[montana-logo-4.png (121×121)] The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Health Care Facilities Practice (HCFP). The Healthcare Facilities Quality and Regulatory Affairs Officer reports to the Healthcare Facilities Executive Director within the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS). This position assumes a strategic role in the overall facilitation of the Compliance and Regulatory Programs of seven (7) state-run healthcare facilities. The position has responsibility for strategic planning and operational leadership pertaining to compliance and regulatory issues as well as oversight of the comprehensive facilities compliance program. This includes, but is not limited to, direct responsibility for facility audits, fraud, waste and abuse programs, accreditation, as well as policy and regulatory compliance at the DPHHS, state government, and federal levels. This position serves as a HIPAA Privacy Officer and oversees the HIPAA privacy compliance programs of all state-run healthcare facilities, including related reports and activities. It represents the DPHHS and state-run Healthcare Facilities at meetings as needed and is responsible for communicating information back to applicable stakeholders. The position is responsible for state-run healthcare facility compliance-related data, programs, and corrective actions. It is also responsible for facility certifications and licensures. It facilitates collaboration with other leaders to ensure that regulatory compliance requirements and DPHHS organizational objectives and targets are successfully achieved. The position is responsible for maintaining all applicable accreditations required by the facilities. In addition, DPHHS is the largest state agency with a wide range of advancement opportunities whether you are joining the workforce or have several years of experience. / / Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Oversees and manages the compliance, regulatory and privacy programs of seven (7) state run healthcare facilities. * Acts as a HIPAA Compliance Officer to ensure the regulatory compliance of multiple healthcare facilities. * Ensures policies and procedures exist at each location to adhere to all State and Federal laws, regulations, and public policies. * Communicates and partners with various stakeholders to champion initiatives to help ensure program requirements are met. * Evaluates processes for healthcare and privacy compliance impact at facilities by conducting annual compliance auditing, testing, and monitoring plans to enhance programs based on the results of those plans. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, or related field;/master’s degree preferred/. o Ten (10) years’ experience in the healthcare field with relevant experience in regulatory compliance off highly regulated environments with a strong focus on ethics compliance. o Five (5) years’ experience in Compliance, Privacy, and Program management operating independently and advising middle and senior management. o Detailed understanding of government requirements/ expectations for healthcare compliance programs. o Skilled in directing administrative management functions through an organizationally and geographically dispersed healthcare delivery system. o Excellent written and oral communication; able to deliver presentations in an articulate and convincing manner. o Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to partner effectively with other in handling complex issues. o Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare providers, and community organizations. o Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
