The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Office of Inspector General/Compliance. Job Overview:This position is responsible for carrying out mandated surveys for certified healthcare facilities within the State of Montana. The candidate would travel to each location to observe and investigate the provision of care for the identification of quality deficient practices, to ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid funded facilities, governed by federal regulations. Compliance with federal regulations allows the facility to bill Medicare and Medicaid for services rendered. Responsibilities include determining if care, treatment, and services are consistent with Federal requirements using an investigative process; communicating non-compliance issues with key personnel; conducting follow-up visits to resolve deficient practices and or for complaint surveys. * * Why Join DPHHS Our mission at DPHHS is to serve Montanans in their communities to improve and protect the health, safety, and well-being, and to empower independence. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * · Basic medical practitioner knowledge. · Ability to interpret regulations and make decisions based on those regulations. · Ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions. · Ability to work with a variety of team members to produce a single survey product. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Licensed healthcare practitioner (licensure requirements include a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent). o Two years of work experience in a healthcare-related field, or other directly related clinical experience. o Must have passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) for CMS surveyors or be able to pass the examination within one year of hire. o Registered Nurse highly desirable. o Other combinations of related education and work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
