* *Position Title: Highway Sign Fabricator TheMontana Department of Transportation (MDT)is recruiting for a Highway Sign Fabricator. Responsible for designing and developing signs, decals, and traffic control devices using computer and manual production methods. Responsible for inventory control and preparing/packing all products for shipping. Work requires repetitive motion, continuous standing, bending, and working stretched out over signs. Provides technical assistance to other MDT work units, the public, contractors, and other agencies. The principles and practices of sign fabrication include metal and woodworking and wide format screen-printing processes. * Highschool diploma or equivalent. * This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to operate graphic design computer programs. * Ability to lift and carry items over 50 pounds. * Constant exposure to noise from tools, machines, and equipment. * Exposure to fumes from paints, inks, solvents, degreasers, etc. Other Information: If you need an accommodation with the application process, please contact the HR representative listed below.
