Amentum HRIS Workday Technical Principal Architect (Integrations) in Helena, Montana

Amentum is seeking an experienced HRIS integration focused Workday Technical Principal Architect to contribute to the success of the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) function, focused in the areas of integrations. This role will be instrumental in developing solutions that align with our HR, Finance, and Payroll needs. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of end-to-end processes and the technical acumen to configure and customize Workday to support complex organizational requirements.

This is a remote-telework role. US Citizenship is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As part of a larger team, this role supports administration of the Workday system including all integrations, system configuration, maintaining security, data audits and corrections, and introduction of new functionality.

  • Supports the design, building, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of system enhancements and other automation projects in the area of integrations, including for Core Connectors, EIB, Studio, and Technical Reporting to support robust integrations and custom solutions across business processes. Manage integrations across Workday and other systems (e.g. Finance ERP, Payroll providers, CRM systems like Clinch, ATS such as Taleo and iCMS) to ensure data accuracy and process alignment, facilitating smooth end to end workflows.

  • Consults with departments such as Program HR, Recruiting, Payroll, and IT as needed to develop cooperation and support project requirements and specifications.

  • Regularly evaluate existing integrations, perform data audits and validation and follows up with appropriate teams for corrections. Regularly conducts requirements reviews with HRIS and functional departments and proactively develops and modifies processes to meet the needs of the business and drive efficiencies. Implements best practices and continuously improve process to support scalability and efficiency.

  • Understands and oversee compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. SOX, GDPR, FEDRAMP, OFCCP) as well as HR laws and regulations associated with data management, ensuring that Workday and integrated systems adhere to data privacy, security protocols, and industry standards. Contributes to the operations and the development of HRIS to support policies. Understands and maintains employees' Data Privacy compliance measures, HR laws, and regulations associated with resource and data management. Follows appropriate change control processes and approval processes when applying updates to employee records and other system configuration.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience or 8 years of experience with a Master’s degree.

  • Minimum of 12 years directly related Workday HRIS experience focused in the area of integrations (Core Connectors, EIB, Studio) and technical reporting for customized solutions.

  • Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience with a strong focus on HRIS, HCM architecture, and end to end process design and optimization.

  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Possesses an analytical mind for translating user needs to determine when software changes should be made and how systems and processes can be made more efficient

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment; ability to effectively prioritize tasks

  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the Government Contracting (GovCon) sector, with a strong understanding of industry-specific compliance requirements.

  • Experience with ADP, and Deltek Costpoint or comparable complex system is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading process transformation initiatives in complex, merger/acquisition environments.

  • Experience migrating from legacy HCM systems (e.g. Oracle R12, PeopleSoft) to Workday, ensuring functional and technical alignment across systems.

  • Strong project management skills with experience in Agile methodologies and risk management.
