DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW: * The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation’s mission is to help ensure Montana’s land and water resources provide benefits for present and future generations. Our business and programs are diverse, to learn more about our agency visit www.dnrc.mt.gov. *JOB OVERVIEW: * We are actively seeking a human resource assistant to join our team in Helena. We value professional relationships, continual improvement and take pride in the work we do. As the Human Resource Assistant, the position supports all human resource functional areas, including, recruitment administration, employee onboarding process, classifies positions, and other administrative duties as requested. This position makes recommendations and assists with implementation of work process improvements to improve efficiency and services to our customers. *Essential Functions (Major Duties or Responsibilities): These job functions are the essential duties of the position and are not all-inclusive of all the duties that may be assigned to the incumbent. _Human Resource Support_: * Provide technical and administrative human resource support throughout the recruitment process by monitoring and managing aspects of the recruitment process, recruitment records, and correspondence with candidates and hiring managers as necessary. Prepare and submit job postings for approval and review by coordinating with the HR Generalist and hiring managers as needed, ensures all approvals are received and details are accurate before publishing. As needed, perform onboarding activities to include administering the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program, coordinate with the HR Generalist and hiring managers to ensure recruitment materials and documentation are filed appropriately and in a timely manner. _Other duties:_ Include but are not limited to: performing background checks, reference checks, exit interviews, managing the employee annual policy review, maintaining human resource documents and personnel files. In partnership with Payroll and HR team, updates work processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with changes in state and federal law. Partners with other organizations to communicate with department employees on important topics and initiatives. Topics may include benefit changes, wellness initiations, retirement program information, payroll messaging, etc. The position may be telework eligible. This position is a modified, non-exempt role reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. Special Information: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. A valid driver's license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months. Eligibility to Work: In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, the person selected must produce within three days of hire documents that show authorization to work in the United States.
