Are you looking for a Human Resource generalist career opportunity in a team setting environment with a focus on providing strategic human resources support? Do you have experience in workforce and employee development, recruitment and selection strategies, performance management, and interpreting policies and labor laws to name a few? The successful candidate will assist the Human Resource (HR) Director as part of a team of HR professionals to manage human resources activities and functions in the Department. Specifically, you will be responsible for: * Providing guidance and leadership to members of the senior leadership team regarding workforce and employee development best practices. * Providing hiring teams with assistance in developing recruitment and selection strategies; * Advising managers on best personnel practices and assisting in developing and implementing performance standards; * Interpreting department and State of Montana personnel policies, State and Federal employment and labor laws and the Department's collective bargaining agreements; * Conducting investigations and assisting the HR Director and managers in determining when and what response or disciplinary action is appropriate; * Helping managers write job descriptions and classifying a wide array of positions; * Assisting in the management and implementation of the Department's compensation pay plan. If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Knowledge of: * Strong organizational skills, with ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision; * Proven self-motivation and strong work ethic; * Developing and maintaining good employee relations; Skills in: * Skill in building rapport and maintaining effective working relationships to promote the department's mission; * Skill in interpreting and applying policies; * Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Ability to: * Ability to research and conduct analysis; * Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive and private information MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in human resource management, business or public administration, labor relations or directly related field and one year of job-related experience. * The incumbent must be a certified classifier under the State of Montana's classification system or be willing and able to obtain the certification within the first year of employment. * PHR/SPHR certification is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered on a case-by-case basis. How would you let us know that you’re the right person?
