The State Human Resources Division is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. This position supports agency human resources staff by recommending and deploying forward-looking, enterprise-wide solutions associated with, but not limited to: talent management, performance and development, classification and compensation, recruitment and selection methodologies, and labor relations. As a member of the HR Programs and Policy Bureau, this individual builds and maintains effective working partnerships with the State’s human resources community; provides guidance on state and federal policies and regulations and works closely with human resources information systems staff to support system initiatives. What are we looking for? Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or another related field. * Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in a human resources specialist or generalist role. * Demonstrated knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices for talent recruitment and selection, training, compensation and benefits, employment law, and HR information systems. * Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by case basis. Competencies: /Ability to:/ * Be innovative to creatively solve a variety of HR-related challenges; * Exercise good judgment and discretion to establish and maintain strong working relationships using strong collaboration and facilitation skills; * Communicate effectively with a diverse group of state employees, managers, and stakeholders on a wide range of topics; * Identify problems, emerging issues and trends, and support enterprise-wide strategies to address them; * Provide direction and education regarding compensation and position classification strategies; * Participate with the development of policies, administrative rules, standards, and guidelines; * Effectively prioritize work regarding multiple projects and competing priorities; and * Demonstrate a high level of integrity and discretion and maintain confidentiality.
