State of Montana Immunization Nurse Consultant (00827) in Helena, Montana

This position serves as the Immunization Nurse Consultant providing nursing leadership and oversight to a wide range of private and public health immunization providers throughout the state of Montana. This position conducts Vaccines for Children compliance and quality improvement visits, assists with preparedness related grant objectives, provides clinical consultation to staff and providers regarding vaccine administration, provides education to partners, collaborates with the surveillance and epidemiology staff on vaccine preventable disease outbreak investigation and control, coordinates perinatal hepatitis b prevention, case management and follow up in collaboration with local health jurisdictions, and helps to promote activities intended to increase immunization rates. * * Why Join DPHHS * * Our mission at DPHHS is serving Montanans in their communities to improve health, safety, well-being, and empower independence. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Knowledge of the concepts and theories of the nursing and public health fields. * Ability to prepare and conduct trainings and or technical assistance. * Ability to write technical or clinical reports, and clinical policies and protocols. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course work in nursing. o Must possess a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in Montana. o Two years of professional nursing experience. o Experience with childhood and/or adult vaccine administration preferred. o Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
