Overview of Job Function:

Verint’s DevOps Cloud Engineer Intern will work on code-driven, cloud automation projects and will contribute to improving the day-to-day cloud operations working with the DevOps team on a large-scale Kubernetes deployment into Amazon and Azure cloud environments. You will be involved in developing, implementing and supporting solutions and pipelines to be adopted by Verint’s applications teams. You will get to learn some of the latest technologies and enjoy creative independence to bring your ideas to life in an open and collaborative team environment.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Working with an agile team to setup and configure cloud-based environments.

  • Design and develop secure cloud system architectures in accordance with established standards.

  • Actively participate as a team member using Agile methods to meet, design and develop solutions with the development team.

  • Writing infrastructure-as-code modules in Terraform, Python, scrips for deploying cloud resources into Kubernetes clusters hosted in Amazon and Azure clouds

  • Creating scripts and automations using Terraform, Python, and other scripting methods for automation

  • Designing and building containerized workflows for performing or enhancing production activities

  • Possibly combining some of the above with light database work for building out resource tracking capabilities

  • Ensures security is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions

  • Collaborate with development teams to help configure, monitor, and support their services

Minimum Requirements:

  • Work towards a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • 0 - 1 year experience in cloud design and programming web-based UIs through all phases of the software development life cycle including testing, implementation and auditing

  • Ability to manage individual priorities with strong time management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Basic experience with any combination of the following:

  • Cloud hosting services: AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • Front-end UI: ReactJS, HTML5, CSS, NodeJS, Mocha

  • Web applications and programming languages such as HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, and PowerShell

  • REST API/microservice applications: Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JUnit

  • SQL/NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDB

  • GIT, JIRA, Confluence

  • Containerized runtime environments: Docker, Kubernetes

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.
