    Helena School District # 1 has openings for full-time 7 hours per school day KinderSprouts (General Education) Para Educators. The work location for these positions is presently undetermined. At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a KinderSprouts (General Education) Para Educator, you contribute to this mission by assisting students individually and in small groups. You will work as part of a team of 160 serving 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:

  • Supervises students before and after school, during lunch period and during recess.

  • Assists in small group pupil instruction and provides limited instructional assistance to individual students at teachers’ request.

  • Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions.

  • Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units.

  • Assists teacher with attendance and related clerical functions.

  • Assists in assembling/hanging materials on bulletin boards and keeping displays current.

  • Assists students with hygiene.

  • Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.

  • May assist with sanitation of room and equipment.

  • May escort children to and from various rooms.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    To become part of this dedicated team, you need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;

  • At least three (3) months of related experience and/or training;

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

    Essential functions of the position include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation. Entry level salary range is presently $14.15 to $17.68 per hour depending on education level and applicable relevant work experience as determined by the district and includes a comprehensive benefit package including but not limited to paid sick and vacation leave, 3 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, up to 13 school calendar related paid days, health benefit plan coverage and retirement.
