The Lead Data Platforms Specialist plays a pivotal role in navigating complex data hierarchy, modeling, and transit challenges faced by our customers. This role focuses on partnering with Marketing Cloud Solutions Engineering & Architect teams, to lend deep expertise during sales cycles. The Specialist will play a crucial role in aligning client goals and requirements against Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s stack of data solution products (CDP, Real-time Engagement, Analytics.)
In addition to partnering with our sales and solutions teams, the specialist will connect cross functionally with our product org, providing insight and suggestion on roadmap and product functionality, based on gathered inputs from client engagements. Uniquely positioned as the expert across all of our data solutions, your perspective of our eco-system’s relation to the needs of the market will be paramount for the success of our customers and Salesforce. Specifically, you will be expected to:
Solve Business Problems - Take ambiguous and complex business problems and, using research and business assessment capabilities, define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend actionable next steps.
Drive Innovation - Bring rigor to a client’s decision making process by presenting and evaluating solution options, and driving consensus among key stakeholders. In some instances, we help our clients develop new decision frameworks and governance processes that continue to deliver value far beyond a particular engagement.
Connect the “Art of the Possible” - Assist Solutions Engineers with delivery of software demos, rapid prototyping, and storytelling to show how connected experiences come to life with the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Data products. This includes the delivery of executive level software demonstrations, construction of future state customer journey strategies, and developing long-term IT roadmaps.
Cross Platform Collaboration- As a Specialist, you will take your understanding of multiple landscapes (MarTech, AdTech, Data Science, Analytics), and develop solutions across Salesforce’s technology stack to create the most robust & effective offering for prospective clients.
A Teaching Mindset- Our team is predicated on the idea of scale. You will be in constant search for multipliers, or opportunities to grow the impact of your knowledge across the team and organizations. Developing enablement content, working with your aligned teams on approaches, tinkering with our products, and running internal workshops are all examples of multipliers.
“Solutioning” is fundamental to the specialist's role. It is important to realize that a component of the responsibilities will include assisting the customer, Account Executive and Professional Services team with the discovery, analysis and ultimately the recommendation of strategic solutions for the customer. These Solutions will leverage the Marketing Cloud technology to address the core marketing challenges and objectives that are uniquely identified for each customer.
5+ years experience in solutions engineering/solutions architecture/technical consulting role ideally in the SaaS space
Excellent communication and presentation skills; dynamic (persuasive) in presenting ideas to clients and prospective clients from VP to C-level
Proficiency in Data Concepts: ETL workflows, Data Science, Warehouse Design, BI, Pipeline creation & Deployment
Experience leading technical consulting conversations involving the implementation of data collection and transit methods via API, SDK, .JS, etc.
Ability to articulate the interplay between Marketing, Advertising, and Customer relationship management
Experience with Marketing Technology Platforms
Proven experience leading strategy and digital roadmap projects in a complex business and marketing environment
Proven history (with examples) of situations where you’ve recognized that a solution was not a fit, but were able to pivot a client to a new solution to better suit their needs.
Demonstrated success driving data strategy changes within client organizations
Past experience in organizational design consulting, process design, optimization, and digital governance
Strong understanding of user research, user-centered design principles and online consumer behavior
