State of Montana Loan Servicing Specialist in Helena, Montana

Montana Housing assists with buying a home, down payment assistance, mortgage servicing, Reverse Annuity Mortgages, rental housing assistance and multifamily rental development. This position serves as a Loan Servicing Specialist for the Board of Housing. It is responsible for: · Maintaining compliance with state and federal loan servicing requirements and investor policies for mortgage loan servicing. · Reviews and inputs new loans, coordinates payment of insurance(s), loss draft claims, loss mitigation activities and property preservation. · Reports to the Loan Servicing Operations Supervisor and will be assigned a lead area of specialty within the serving team. · Responsible for paying all PMI/MIP mortgage insurance premiums, flood, multifamily and force placed insurance to ensure that all loan files are completely documented, and premiums are paid in a timely manner. · Processes payment transactions and balances daily and monthly transactions for individual mortgage holders. · Prepares and posts daily deposits, analyzes and reconciles multiple accounts, data for posting payments, escrow accounts and loss claims; receives and inputs new, transferred and assumed loans on to servicing software; determines escrow and insurance requirement for each loan. · Creates invoices, accounts receivable, fee income, and collection of fees. · Receives checks and invoices on behalf of borrowers, verifies transaction activity and processes all payments. · Provides customer service to borrowers and manages loan servicing data, including re-conveyances, tax and insurance disbursements, loss claims, insurance coverage and changes, and pertinent mortgage management data. · This position is responsible for creating and maintaining effective borrower relations as well as relationships with insurance agents, business partners and agents who assist with the servicing of mortgage loans. · The position is responsible record management for the mortgage servicing division. This includes establishing and maintaining mortgage servicing records in accordance with regulations (CFPB, FHA, HUD, PMI, RD, and VA Mortgage Regs and governing laws). · Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in ongoing professional development and industry certification, providing support and assistance to other staff, coordinating special projects, and performing other duties as assigned with the Housing Division. · This position will be assigned to support the loan servicing team and work within a specialty area of loan servicing. This position is open until filled; with a first review date of 5.24.23 What are we looking for? Education and Experience: · A Bachelor’s/Associates/High School diploma/degree in finance, accounting, business; and · Applicable experience in closely related field; or · Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. · It would pique our interest if you had experience with homeowner’s insurance and mortgage loans.
