Enhancing data quality is a key aspect in Salesforce’s ability to continue its fast growth and scale towards becoming a $100B+ company. The mission of the Data Strategy & Governance Team is to provide leadership and stewardship of Salesforce internal Org62 data through the Data Governance Councils (DGCs) and by leading cross-functional data-driven initiatives. We are trusted advisors to data stakeholders and Salesforce internal teams to implement data solutions that foster growth, increase productivity, and improve end-users experience. We thrive to resolve Org62 tech debt to ensure business continuity and to support Salesforce’s exponential growth.

The Business Data Governance Manager will lead Org62 Data Governance Office and be responsible for the Business Data Governance Councils (DGC) operations. He/she/they will manage the portfolio of data and metadata quality strategic initiatives, as well as the portfolio of Data Governance Operations transformation initiatives. He/she/they team-up with data owners across every Salesforce internal teams and engage them in common Data Quality goals. He/she/they analyze data and metadata issues, understand processes and policies that impact our data quality, and frame recommendations to improve and scale Salesforce’s data quality. He/she/they must excel in building and sustaining executive relationships, be able to communicate recommendations to senior-level executives, and roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation, and track your projects’ impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transformation of Salesforce data governance operations adapted to the data architecture changes, a broader data community, and in compliance of new Enterprise Data Governance standards

  • Manage portfolio of data governance operations projects/strategic initiatives: from prioritization of initiatives and management of backlog, to creation of project and communication plans

  • Improve engagement across Salesforce teams in Data Governance: programs, councils, and slack channel and develop action plan to continuously improve

  • Represent, advocate, and ensure compliance of Data Governance processes and policies as part of enterprise wide cross-functional projects

  • Ensure quality of operational assets (e.g. Confluence / google site, Standard Operating Procedures, Governance Templates, Business Glossary, Org62 Data Policies, Org62 Data Dictionaries)

  • Propose improvements to make operational activities more effective, efficient and consistent across Councils, in partnership with eOps and key Data Stakeholders; Standardize processes and operational assets

  • Scale and evangelize Salesforce Data Governance best practices

  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise and Org62 data policies and data governance processes’ standards

  • Lead clean up and deprecation activities to relieve Salesforce internal orgs’ limits, to foster data process innovations, and to improve end-users experience

  • Understand business processes, the flow of data within and between processes, and recommend process improvements for better data quality and effectiveness

  • Align stakeholders across Salesforce teams (IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Employee Success, Legal, etc ...) and facilitate data process discussions; Ensure clear agenda, capture meetings’ minutes and track action items to closure

  • Ensure quality of impact focused communications in Slack: quarterly executive summary of DGC wins, and data governance office related decisions

  • Manage a team of business analysts focused on Data Governance Operations

Required skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum required

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in management consulting or business analysis

  • Data Governance & Data Quality Management experience, CDMP is a plus

  • Project management experience, PMP certification is a plus

  • Strong business acumen in sales and sales operations in the cloud software industry at high-growth B2B technology companies

  • Strong experience in facilitating discussions with a broad range of stakeholders from various organizations (IT, sales, marketing, operations, employee success, finance, etc ...) and various seniority level (associate to senior directors)

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in simple ways

  • Highly organized, action-oriented and execution-driven

  • Ability to roll-up your sleeves to capture structured meeting minutes, and tracking action items to closure

  • Energized by working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and projects

  • Ability to multi-task and to perform effectively under pressure

  • Process-improvement mindset

  • Demonstrated self-starter

  • Salesforce experience, Salesforce Admin certification is a plus
