Meta Manager, Product Management in Helena, Montana
We are looking for a Manager of Product Management to champion the best possible user experience for all developers that are authoring or editing code at Meta. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of the different tools we offer for code editing and authoring as well as an intimate knowledge of the needs and challenges of each cohort of developers. This person will drive a cohesive, organizational-wide vision of what a great code authoring and editing development experience looks like, and help our team craft a unified strategy on how to get to a delightful development experience for these core groups. They will also establish a direct channel with relevant developers within the company; create champions within the relevant organizations; and drive the roadmap of fixes, enhancements and/or new features to get us to a fully crafted vision. Finally, this leader will create alignment among all the different teams working on authoring and editing experiences, including VSCode Core, PL&R and others, to ensure we’re all rowing in the same direction and not duplicating efforts.
Manager, Product Management Responsibilities:
Establish a shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities that lead to effective product execution for all code authoring and editing experience.
Lead the ideation, technical development and launch of innovative products.
Manage and grow a team of product managers, while also expanding existing product work streams.
Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements that enhance user satisfaction.
Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products.
Coordinate and scale cross-functional efforts across the globe.
Understand Meta's strategic and competitive position, and deliver products that enable Meta's developers to be the best in the industry.
10+ years of product management experience.
3+ years of experience as a people manager, supporting a team of 3+ directs.
Experience hiring and growing teams.
Communication and presentation skills.
Organizational and analytical skills.
Understanding of the technical architecture of web applications.
Experience designing user interfaces, including creating examples through wire frames and mock-ups.
Software development experience as a developer and/or manager.
Experience managing an organization of product managers, including building and growing a team.
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities.
