State of Montana Marketing Project Manager in Helena, Montana

About this Position * The Commerce Director’s Office provides centralized finance, budget, communications, marketing, legal, IT and HR services and resources for the Department Divisions and attached boards. The Marketing and Communication (Marcomm) Project Manager (MPM) reports to the CMO and is responsible for integrated project management across all activities of the Commerce Marcomm team. The MPM provides a coordinated and structured management process to drive efficiency and timeliness of marketing and communication deliverables. The MPM is responsible for the project management and interfacing with marketing agencies that support the Department’s programs. The MPM facilitates the development of scopes of work and manages the work progress of scopes of work with these agencies. The MPM is responsible for the maintenance of the Department’s project management solution and provides actionable reports to leadership that provide understanding of status for all projects in the Marcomm division. The MPM understands where risks are developing in successful execution of projects and where Marcomm team capacity is available to help mitigate such risks. The MPM will work closely with the CMO, Creative Director, Digital Media Director, Communication Director, and Marcomm Operations Coordinator to ensure that project requests with the AORs are delivered. *What to Expect: _During the first 3-6 months:_ · Trailblaze project management for the state’s largest marketing program. · You will learn and implement the Department’s recently selected project management software, Hive. As the Department’s “Hive Power User,” you will become an expert in Hive functionality and best practices. You will design and champion processes in Hive and build out projects for the Marcomm team. · You will establish required protocols for document sharing and collaboration between the Department’s marketing agencies and the Marcomm team. You will be instrumental in “uncluttering” inboxes by driving adoption of Hive for project communications. · You will provide training for all Department Hive users on best practices and expectations for using the project management tool. · You will coordinate and facilitate meetings to ensure the team is making the most of its time every day. · You will produce agendas for meetings with marketing agencies and the Marcomm team, ensuring efficient meetings. · You will become familiar with scope of work development and tracking between the Department’s marketing agencies and the Department’s programs. *During the first 6-12 months:* · You will develop a rolling plan that continuously works to improve the use of the Department’s project management software. This includes updates, continually understanding product features and adapting to new use cases. · You will understand the accounting and billing processes associated with the Department’s marketing agencies and support Operations in scope of work tracking against deliverables. * You will learn and contribute to reporting projects as needed to support operations. Education and Experience: * · Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or similar discipline preferred. Similar, proven experience to an alternative to bachelor’s degree. · 3-5 years of project management or experience managing marketing teams or similar use cases. · PMP and PMI-ACP, CSM certificationspreferred(tell us if you’ve had other project management training or if you’re in-progress on certifications). · Project Management tracking software power user experience ispreferred(Hive.com experience a bonus but tell us if you have experience with a similar tool like Monday.com, Asana or something else). *Knowledge of: · Brand development and management · Marketing strategy · Marketing data and KPI’s · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Implementation of the MPM tool from start to finish, including training staff Ability to: · Inspire, motivate and engage colleagues to ensure a positive and successful working environment · Clearly communicate ideas and feedback · Adapt to change · Provide direction to marketing vendors (agencies of record) · Manage external partnerships and contracts · Plan and track progress · Develop, manage scopes of work and adhere to budgets How to apply Apply online by submitting yourresume.
