The College Board Marketing Technology Strategist, College and Career Planning in Helena, Montana

About the Team

The Communications and Marketing team is responsible for building and protecting the College Board reputation, overseeing organization's communications efforts, and growing the organization's three highest priority areas: AP, SAT Suite, and BigFuture, which are designed to increase educational access and opportunity for all students. We are a close knit, dedicated team with a track record of success in promoting the work of the College Board to a variety of audiences, including students, parents, educators, policymakers, the media, member organizations and staff.

About the Opportunity

As our Marketing Technology Strategist, you'll be the primary technical expert for all of College Board's marketing technology and data stacks. You are pivotal in shaping and optimizing how our vast technology vendors and solutions work together to deliver exceptional experiences to our education users. You will make an impact on College Board's growth by guiding and supporting the development of customer engagement and marketing technology strategies and managing transformational roadmaps as College Board continues to evolve to meet the needs of diverse students during their college search and beyond.

In this role, you will:

Strategy (60 %)

Partner with key stakeholders across Marketing Operations, Growth Marketing, and adjacent teams managing data and analytics to create our future-state technology vision and oversee the development and implementation of technology strategies, architectural blueprints, and technology roadmaps to support a robust customer journey as well as a savvy marketing organization
Work alongside data architects and product development teams to devise meaningful ways to improve customer experiences through technical capabilities
Assist in the identification and evaluation of new technologies and software to enhance the customer experience at College Board
Advise marketing technology users on best practices to maximize investments

Implementation (40%)

Create opportunities via collaboration with functional teams such as but not limited to Marketing Operations and Growth Marketing to improve marketing, data, workflow, and analytics technologies across all touchpoints
Work closely with the Technology team to develop and advocate patterns, principles, practices, and governance that help infuse new technologies and advanced analytics into solutions being planned and developed
Oversee technology implementations to ensure they are aligned with overarching College Board goals, customer journey advancements, and technical roadmaps

About You

You have:

5-7 years of relevant experience in a technical marketing role, IT, or technology consulting
Developed technical solution architecture and capability roadmaps for enterprise-wide solutions
Experience in collecting requirements for and executing strategic technical transformations at an enterprise level
A robust understanding of relevant technology in a variety of domains such as marketing, customer analytics, marketing automation, workflow management, content management, tag/data management, etc.
Experience with Salesforce.com, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, Adobe AEM, JIRA or similar major marketing technology platforms
A people-first approach, strong multi-audience communication style, and high emotional intelligence
Strong technology and human-centered design background as well as the ability to formulate and communicate clear strategies
Ability to thrive in a diverse and rapidly growing environment
An aptitude to craft effective presentations and deliverables for non-technical audiences
A Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science is desired
A passion for supporting educational and career opportunities for millions of students
Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year or < 10% for in-person meetings/gatherings
