State of Montana Medicaid Program Officer (14162) in Helena, Montana

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division. This position is located in the Developmental Disabilities Program (DDP), in the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division (BHDD), at the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS). The Medicaid Program Officer is responsible to assure the Section 1915(c) and 1915(b) Home and Community Based Services Medicaid Waiver(s) provide comprehensive habilitation and support services for enrolled Montanans with developmental/intellectual disabilities, and State Plan Amendments (SPA) administered by the DDP provide authorized services to eligible Montanans. This position designs, implements, assesses, and amends the 1915(c) and 1915(b) Waiver(s) and SPAs to insure timely and accurate administration of the Waiver(s) application and/or SPAs; provide assistance to quality assurance personnel, qualified provider staff, contractors, and state staff; outreach to stakeholders; development and amendment of Administrative Rules of Montana; oversight of DDP qualified Waiver providers. These duties are typically performed through engagement with stakeholders and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), attending CMS and other professional trainings, provider and stakeholder relations, and performance measures oversight with quality assurance personnel. * * * *Why Join DPHHS * * Our mission at DPHHS is to serve Montanans in their communities to improve and protect the health, safety, and well-being, and to empower independence. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * General knowledge of Medicaid. * General knowledge of the disability service system, target groups, conditions, and reimbursement systems. * Knowledge of program management principles and practices, including quality improvement practices. * Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in human services (including counseling or social work); business or public administration; human development/behavioral science or other related fields. o Two years of work experience in program management, preferably healthcare related. o Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
