State of Montana Montana Library Network Coordinator in Helena, Montana

TheMontana State Libraryhelps all organizations, communities, and Montanans thrive through excellent library resources and services. The _Montana State Library (MSL)_is seeking applications for the_Montana Library Network Coordinato_r.The Montana Library Network (MLN) represents a collaborative community of Montana libraries working together to provide all Montanans with library content and services sufficient for their needs. TheMLN Coordinatoris responsible for developing, evaluating, and overseeing new and existing collaborative efforts designed to create scalable infrastructure and service for libraries in Montana that equitably serve all Montanans. This position seeks to understand how and why people engage or do not engage with statewide library services to develop strategies to make those services more visible, accessible, usable, and valuable to Montana citizens. This position supervises one full-time employee and works directly with Library Development staff to coordinate efforts to ensure that libraries and library users receive the highest level of service possible. _Primary Responsibilities:_ · Collaboration and Outreach: Identify, develop and manage core services and opportunities for cooperation among libraries so that participating libraries benefit from effective and cost-efficient service delivery models and a cohort of peers from which to share ideas and expertise. · Research, Planning and Evaluation: Identify and use qualitative and quantitative data to understand library services and library users and non-library users to assess statewide needs for shared technology solutions, resource sharing services, and collaboration opportunities that deliver equitable, effective, and cost-efficient services to Montanans. · Program Development and Management: Provide and monitor day-to-day operations of core services to ensure that the services are meeting the needs of Montana libraries and their patrons. · Procurement and Fiscal Oversight: Work with Grants and Contracts Coordinator to oversee the procurement process for any software and services, create budgets and cost share formulas for these efforts, manage the budgets and financial reporting, and evaluate future service models to determine future funding needs. · Program Evaluation and Planning: Analyze data at the community, library, and service levels to assess program effectiveness and to identify other statewide needs for shared technology salutation, resource sharing, and collaboration. · Federal Grant Oversight: Ensure Library Service & Technology Act (LSTA) grant program compliance with federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, and policies for the use of funds. · Staff Management and Leadership:Supervise one staff member, participate in agency’s Leads team, coordinate programs and services with other agency leads, actively participate in the Network Advisory Council (NAC), provide training to staff, MSL Commission, and the library community. _Minimum Qualifications:_ This position requires education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in library science or library and information science, or a graduate degree in a comparable program and 2 years of job-related experience. _Preferred Qualifications:_ Experience designing and implementing innovative library services, developing library consortium and partnerships, initiating statewide or multi-state library programs and services, and/or working in a collaborative library consortium environment or similar multi-library resource-sharing environment preferred.
