What is this career opportunity? * The Network Communications Supervisor is responsible for managing a widely deployed VoIP telephony system and enterprise contact center deployments. We seek a leader dedicated to delivering innovative technology solutions to the state’s telephony environment, while engaging the staff in those solutions. In this capacity, you wouldmanage the telecommunications staff and resources to support the state’s operations and maintain a high quality of service. The primary duties include overseeing system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. They must ensure all equipment is up to date and properly functioning, respond to outages, and guide software upgrades as required. The supervisor should possess strong leadership skills and be able to motivate staff and promote system use. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role maintaining customer relationships with state agencies, working with designated technology vendors, and representing SITSD initiatives in a variety of forums.The job requires excellent technical and organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively. *Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, Business Technology, Business Management, or other IT-related field; AND * Five years’ experience in the telecommunications or technical infrastructure industries; AND * Two years’ experience supervising professional-level employees; OR * Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Competencies: /Knowledge of:/ * General principles of project management * Avaya VoIP architecture; * Server and storage architectures; * Data transfer protocols and network designs; * Cloud-based and on-prem Contact Center and IVR design and creation; /Ability to:/ * Provide excellent customer service and communication to technical and non-technical individuals; * Supervise and support highly-skilled and technical team members; * Understand the interrelationship of data, voice/VoIP network systems and to quickly learn the State’s environment; * Manage a budget driven by billed services; * Effectively communicate with diverse levels of management and stakeholders; * Effectively interact with vendors on behalf of State agencies; * Deliver superior network and telephony services to a variety of customers; * Establish and maintain effective working relationships in the public and private sector; * Identify problems, emerging issues and trends, and establish strategies to address them; * Translate new technologies into sound business solutions; /Preferred:/ * Experience supervising telephony and/or networking professionals; * Experience leading project-based initiatives; * * * * Does this sound like you?
