(You can learn more about SITSDhere.) * * What is this career opportunity? * This position performs installation, modification, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repairs of all types of wiring, cabling, fiber, and connectivity issues. It is also responsible for installing, preparing, splicing and troubleshooting inside and outside plant fiber optic cables and systems. This position supports the continued functioning of governmental services by ensuring network connectivity to state facilities. *What are we looking for?__ Education and Experience: // · Siemon Structured Cabling System Certification · 2 years of applicable cabling and network diagnostics experience · Valid State of Montana Driver’s License · Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case by case basis. * * Competencies: /Knowledge required for the first day of work:/ * Knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards & National Electric Code * Knowledge of data network operations including switching, routing, voice and video technologies; * Knowledge of network diagnostic tools and equipment required /Skills/ * Experience installing and certifying structured cabling systems * Basic network equipment configuration and install * Writing technical ticket requests and communication specifications * Experience with customer invoicing for services /Ability to:/ * Learn quickly * Effectively communicate with diverse levels of management and stakeholders * Provide excellent customer service * Communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals * Work independently with minimal supervision and/or as part of a team * Data network operations including switching, routing, voice and video technologies; * * Does this sound like you?
