This positionis located in the Network Technology Services Bureau of SITSD and is tasked with deploying and supporting local and wide area network services to various state agencies. This position is responsible for the installation, layout and maintenance of all network components to include: Cisco routers and switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and voice and video systems. This position interacts with various departments to ensure compatibility of state equipment, cost effectiveness of computing expenditures, and optimum use of embedded infrastructure. Travel is required up to 30% of the time with 10% including overnight. What are we looking for?__ Education and Experience: // · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, and one-year applicable experience: OR · Associate’s degree with an emphasis in networking, and three years of applicable experience; OR · Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. · Cisco CCNA certification desired. * *Competencies: /Knowledge of: / · The interrelationship of data, voice, wireless and video network systems; · Data network operations including switching, routing, voice and video technologies; · Organizational trouble ticketing systems; · Networking protocols and standards: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, 802.11(x), BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QOS, 802.1x, SNMP; · Circuit Types: MPLS, Frame Relay, T1’s, DSL, Cable Modems, and Metro Ethernet. /Ability to:/ · Rapidly troubleshoot and correct system/network problems in a timely fashion; · Provide excellent customer service; · Effectively communicate with diverse levels of management and stakeholders; · Communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals; · Work with highly-skilled and technical team members; · Establish and maintain effective working relationships in the public and private sector; · Work independently with little supervision and as part of a team; · Assume a lead-role on critical project segments. * * Does this sound like you?
