TheTeachers’ Retirement System(TRS) serves active and retired teachers and educators in the State of Montana. Its primary purpose is to administer their pension plan, which includes (but is not limited to) payment of retirement benefits, collection of member contributions and enrollment of new members. What is this career opportunity? We are looking for adedicated individual with excellent customer service skills that is interested in payroll/benefits to join our team! This position is responsible for assisting in the retired payroll process which encompasses two complete payroll processes per month for over 15,000 benefit recipients. You would be a point of contact for retired TRS members, answering payroll and benefit change related questions as well as determining eligibility of beneficiaries for continuing benefits upon notification of the death of a member. _Qualifications___ Education and Experience: / / · High school diploma or the equivalent; and · Three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, data processing, or applicable; or · Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. * * Competencies: /Knowledge of:/ · Reconciling, balancing, entering mathematical computations; · Computerized accounting systems. /Ability to:/ · Communicate at an advanced level both verbal and in writing; · Provide effective and professional customer service; · Identify and resolve problems effectively; · Operate a personal computer and general office equipment including Microsoft Office Suite; · Plan, organize, gather information and conduct research; · Demonstrate a strong attention to detail; · Establish and maintain effective working relationships; · Determine priorities in a changing environment and adjust workload accordingly to manage competing priorities.
