    JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): The Assistant Program Director works in coordination with the Program Director providing daily operations and continuous program growth. Follow expectations with affiliated programs that are associated with St. Peter’s Health Child Care Facilities. Assist to ensure all parties will abide by St. Peter’s Health and Program Policies. Provides program oversight in the Program Director’s absence. Assists the Program Director with the monthly/daily scheduling of children and child care providers. Checks weekly curriculum plans/activities of staff to align with Creative Curriculum, children screening/assessments, and NAEYC Accreditation Standards. Maintains an open, positive relationship with parents, children and providers. Ability to cover for other childcare providers in all classroom settings. Continually monitors providers, environment and program policies. Assist with the orientation process for families and new childcare providers.

    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE : Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Licensed Child Care Facility required. Demonstrates knowledge and practical application of principles of childhood growth and development. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Email, TEAMS, and Child Care Software Programs preferred.

    EDUCATION : Associates Degree with at least 20 Semester College Credits in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, meeting expectations of the Montana Early Childhood Project: Practitioner Registry – Level 5 required.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY : Current Montana Driver’s License. Infant, Child and Adult CPR and Pediatric First Aid and AED required to be completed within 30 days of hire and kept current thereafter. Preferred completed STARS to Quality Trainings to a Level 5. Completed mandatory 16 hours annual training and keep all SPH and Child Care Licensing required immunizations current required.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and critical thinking skills to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. Demonstrated ability to effectively guide and supervise others. Demonstrated ability to lead groups and individuals towards established goals. Demonstrate professional communications, organizational and leadership skills.
