What You Will Do :
Develop using various languages such as PHP, Python, and JavaScript using both OOP and functional programming paradigms.
Participate in both unit testing and full integrated system testing.
Develop separate elements of a software that work well in the program as a whole
Create various diagrams, flowcharts and models that illustrate the type of code needed for programmers
Ensure continued functionality of a program during maintenance and testing of software
Revisit the development process to fix bugs or address client concerns
Design the architecture of the components of an application
Build and test Application Program Interfaces (APIs)
Design, test and develop software to meet requirements
Recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs
Test sites and applications in different browsers and environments
Test new features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct task in all cases
Run performance bench marking tests
Refactor and optimize existing code
Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance
Document code so other developers can understand and contribute to it
Fix bugs in existing projects
Review colleagues' code
Meet with product owners, designers, developers and project staff for progress updates
Contribute to implementing an agile product development environment
Effectively communicate technical information and work status accurately and reliably to project leads and managers.
What You Will Need :
BS/BA degree and 6-8 years of experience in a related field
In lieu of degree, 4 additional years of experience will be needed
6+ years of progressive experience with programming in an enterprise setting using PHP and/or Python
6+ years using client-side and server-side frameworks for PHP (Symfony) and JavaScript (Vue, React)
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
Strong problem-solving experience and driven work ethic
U.S. Citizen or Green card is required for the position.
Candidate must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation.
What Would Be Nice to Have :
Experience with relational and document databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB)
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Experience with Git and GitLab CI/CD
Experience in AGILE development
Experience installing, configuring, maintaining & troubleshooting software within a Linux environment
The annual salary range for this position is $119,800.00-$179,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
